A Second Life Millionaire? Yes, It Is Possible To Make Money On The Internet By Playing Online Multiplayer Video Games

Have you ever considered making money by playing video games?  Yes, it is possible.  In fact, many people have found that a really unique way of making money on the Internet is by playing online multiplayer video games.  In particular, MMORPGs (massively multiplayer online role playing games) typically provide some great opportunities for making money.  How?  Well, many of these games feature a persistent online universe.  What that means is that what you acquire in those games is there the next day, the next week, the next month and even a year from now.  In the vast majority of these types of games, you are able to trade and sell items inside the game with others.  This presents a great money making opportunity.  If you can find a way to acquire the items that everyone else in the game desperately wants, then you can sell them to others for a very nice profit.  How profitable?  Well, one lady has become a millionaire just from buying and selling virtual real estate in a game called "Second Life".

Yes, that's right.

A millionaire.

Her name is Anshe Chung, and even Businessweek is reporting on her remarkable story....

Anshe Chung’s achievement is all the more remarkable because the fortune was developed over a period of two and a half years from an initial investment of $9.95 for a Second Life account by Anshe’s creator, Ailin Graef. Anshe/Ailin achieved her fortune by beginning with small scale purchases of virtual real estate which she then subdivided and developed with landscaping and themed architectural builds for rental and resale. Her operations have since grown to include the development and sale of properties for large scale real world corporations, and have led to a real life “spin off” corporation called Anshe Chung Studios, which develops immersive 3D environments for applications ranging from education to business conferencing and product prototyping.

So can you make money this way too?

Well, yes.

So how do I know?

Because I have made money in online video games as well.

A number of years ago I was hooked on an online video game called Ultima Online.

After playing for quite some time, I decided to leave the game and sell off my possessions.

After selling my castle and a large amount of my virtual gold for real dollars, I took those real dollars and purchased a new computer.

So yes, playing these video games can be quite profitable.

So if you are looking for a "fun" way to make money, go find a popular online game where others are making money and give it a shot.

However, be sure to read the terms of service for each particular game to make sure that you are not breaking their rules.

Not all games allow you to buy and sell items in the game for real world money.

So be careful.

But who knows?

Perhaps you will be the next "Second Life" millionaire.
